Welcome Campus Pastor Josh Tandy BA '05!

So, I’m back.

After graduating in 2005, and then being an RD spouse from 2009-2011, I’m back.

It is weird but very, very good.

Daily I’m reminded of my age. I catch myself starting a sentence with “when I was a student...” I smile when I hear a freshman perplexed at the location of Decker 133. When I step on the stage at Reardon to preach, the memories of all the times I nodded off or didn’t pay attention in Chapel come rushing back.

I wanted to come back as the Campus Pastor not because of the chance to play IM basketball or the beauty of the Valley. I came back because this place matters.

At Anderson University, I started learning what it meant to follow Jesus on my own. My first ministry wasn’t at that church that first paid me, it was as an RA on 4th floor of Smith. The people I talk to daily aren’t the ones I went to High School with, but the ones I grew up with on this campus. I met my wife here.

Who I am was formed so much by my time here. It hasn’t been easy or perfect, but it has been good. I came back, because I get the opportunity to be part of that for these students.

It is very, very good.

Josh Tandy ‘05, Campus Pastor

AU Launches New Pep Band and Drumline Program

AU has launched a pep band and drumline which debuted this fall. The band and drumline provide another element to the game day experience at AU sporting events.

The band and drumline will perform at home athletic events in an effort to enhance campus community and student life while adding energy and spirit to student athletic events.

“The Pep Band and Drumline is a huge part of the athletics gameday experience for both fans and student-athletes,” said Marcie Taylor, director of athletics. “They keep the crowd engaged and create a high-energy atmosphere for the student-athletes. We’re excited to have AU’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance support the addition of a Pep Band and Drumline.”
